Although the program was highly successful, our Federal Government decided not to extend the program. Therefore, the Federal Tax Credit will NOT be available for installations after December 31, 2007. We are hoping that this program will be reinstated (through our diligent efforts) or that a newer program is established for 2008, however, as for now this $300 Tax Credit is not available for 2008. Energy bill details   President Bush and Congress passed an Energy Bill on July 29, 2005 that will give a tax incentive credit of up to $300 to all homeowners nationwide who purchase a highly efficient water heater in 2006 and 2007. This bill was passed in an effort to address the nation’s ongoing energy crisis. Beginning in tax year 2006, consumers will be able to itemize purchases on their federal income tax form, which will lower the total amount of tax they owe the government. Pre-existing homes built in 2005 or earlier will be eligible for Tax Credits of up to $500. Please note, the Federal Tax Credit will NOT be available for installations after December 31, 2007.
